I have a particular interest in image-guided interventional pain management, including both X-ray-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures.

I believe that successful pain management begins with understanding the individual patient, their diagnosis and the effect that persistent pain has on their everyday life.

My approach is therefore individualised and multidisciplinary, rather than relying solely on injections or medication.

During the initial consultation, I aim to understand the likely causes and mechanisms of the patient's pain, review relevant investigations and imaging, and explain the available treatment options in clear and understandable terms.

Treatment may include medication optimisation, targeted image-guided interventions, physical rehabilitation, lifestyle modification and supported self-management.

Where an intervention is appropriate, I discuss both its potential benefits and limitations so that patients can make an informed decision about their treatment.

My overall aim is not simply to reduce pain, but to help patients improve function, mobility and quality of life.
