Dr Kalra qualified in 2002 from KMC, Manipal before carrying out her Obstetrics and Gynaecological training in India and Bristol. 

In 2011 Dr Kalra moved into General Practice whilst also pursuing a diploma in family planning (DFSRH), Gynaecology (DRCOG) and Practical Dermatology at Cardiff University (DPD).

She has been an NHS GP for past 15 years.

She successfully established the Women Health Hub in Rutland and does NHS Community dermatology and Minor surgery clinics at Leicester and Rutland.
