Dr Soar holds dual Fellowships with the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMRCA), in addition to the European Diploma in Pain Medicine (EDPM). He has also gained postgraduate certifications in Clinical Leadership and Research from the University of Cambridge, and in Neuromodulation from Queen Mary University of London. He further enhanced his leadership skills through the Future Leaders Programme with Health Education England.
In recognition of his contributions to the specialty and drive for innovating patient care, he received the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) Scholarship Award.
Dr Soar is actively engaged in research and education. As an NIHR Associate Principal Investigator, he has contributed to national clinical trials. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters on topics such as lumbar radicular pain and neuromodulation. He regularly presents his research at international pain conferences.
Committed to advancing medical education and professional standards, Dr Soar has served as an examiner for the General Medical Council (GMC) and is the Faculty Tutor for Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists. In this role, he oversees and mentors trainees. Dr Soar regularly organises and delivers teaching modules and lectures at national and international pain management symposia including at the Faculty of Pain Medicine and the International Society of Pain and Neuroscience.
