Dr Steven Lindsay is a consultant cardiologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHSFT. He also has private practices at The Yorkshire Clinic and Leeds Nuffield Hospital. Dr Lindsay is also involved in the clinical research of novel treatments for various cardiovascular conditions including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, ischaemic heart disease and coronary interventions. He is Research Lead for Cardiology at the Bradford Institute for Health Research. He is clinical lead of the West Yorkshire Cardiac Clinical Network where he leads a variety of projects improving care for patients with heart disease.
Dr Lindsay gained his medical degree from Queen's University Belfast in 1987 then moved to Yorkshire where he trained in General Medicine in Sheffield and York before specialising in cardiology in Leeds. He spent time as a senior registrar at the University of Leeds and gained an MD with distinction in 1999. Dr Lindsay was appointed consultant cardiologist in 2000. He established the coronary angioplasty service in Bradford and helped develop the West Yorkshire heart attack service in Leeds. He was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2003 and of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2011.
