Dr Basu is a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist with over two decades of NHS and international experience in EMG, EEG, and complex neuromuscular diagnostics. Currently based at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and honorary Consultant at St George's Teaching Hospital, she leads a dynamic multidisciplinary team serving South West London and North East Surrey, while also providing private neurophysiology services in leading Ramsay hospitals across the region.

Dr Basu obtained her medical degree in 1990 and thereafter trained in several specialities of Medicine. Her advanced neurophysiology training began across major centres including Glasgow, Nottingham, London, and Sweden under the mentorship of Professor Erik Stålberg. With 22+ years in neurophysiology, she brings deep clinical expertise in conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease, Radiculopathies, Neuropathies, Myopathies, Myasthenia Gravis, Nerve Injuries, Medico-legal Reports and trapped nerves in neck, back, elbow, hand and knees.
She found her interest in Neurophysiology in 2003 and specialised from Walton Centre, Glasgow, one of the best neuroscience centres in the country. Further training was obtained in Edinburgh, Nottingham University hospital, Institute of Child Health, London and Uppsala University, Sweden.
