Dr Seevaratnam is a Consultant Physician in General Internal Medicine. He qualified in medicine from Sri Lanka’s Colombo University while playing first class cricket. Successfully combining first class cricket, wicket keeping and medical training gave him invaluable insight into working under pressure and still motivating and inspiring patients.
After training posts at Norfolk, Enfield, Northampton and Southampton University he was appointed Consultant Physician at East and North Herts NHS Trust. In 2014 he moved into private practice full time. He maintains his practice up to date through clinical meetings, teach-ins, conferences and study days.
As an Acute Physician taking unselected admissions, he gained broad clinical experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions in adults over 18 years that affect the heart, lungs, digestive system, kidneys, nervous system and blood.
Within the Trust he has held the role of Clinical Director, Chairman of Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, and medical lead in ethics committees.
He provides general medical cover for post operative complications in the hospitals where he has practising privileges.
Seeva is married and has a son. An outstanding wicket keeper, he played first class and representative cricket in Sri Lanka. He also played Middlesex County league cricket. Besides sport and keep fit, he enjoys food, wine and music.
