Academic Background

After graduating from Leicester University Medical School in 2007 Dr Kitchingham went on to rotate through medical and surgical specialties in busy tertiary centres and accrued exposure to a vast wealth of medical illnesses and as a consequence now has the ability to understand a spectrum of illness and have the capacity to address the needs of the general public that she is now privileged to care for.

After successful completion of the Foundation Training Programme she competitively won a place in the highly regarded national anaesthetic training programmes firstly for basic anaesthetic training and subsequently at a higher specialist training level. She was awarded the MRCA in 2011.

In 2015 Dr Kitchingham, for family reasons, chose to transition into General Practice training which was undertaken on the Northampton programme. During her training she received a Postgraduate Award with Distinction ‘Essentials in Primary Care’ from the University of Warwick 2017 having secured a financial bursary to fund the course. She then went on to attain the Royal College of General Practitioners Applied Knowledge Test (2018) and the Royal College of General Practitioners Clinical Skills Assessment (2019) both on the first attempt.

She completed her membership training and became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in August 2020.

Following this, Dr Kitchingham went on to become a substantive GP in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire where she had a busy and independent practice for 14 months before moving on to Walnut Tree Health Centre where she is now a GP partner, experienced in all aspects of general practice. Outside of clinical hours she enjoys running and Peloton workouts.
