He completed a NIH (National Institute of Health, America) funded fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College contributing to an doctorate of medicine under the supervision of Professor Dudley Pennell.

He has a keen interest in advanced imaging modalities such as 3D echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography.

Dr Kirk has published extensively in cardiology including high profile journals such as circulation. Dr Kirk has presented nationally and internationally for which he was awarded the prestigious accolade of “Young Investigator of the Year” in the USA.

  • Dr. Paul. Kirk. Came out to meet and greet me in a friendly manner. He had a pleasing smile and had a firm. handshake. He asked how i was in a genuine concerned voice. In Reviewing my notes he spoke in a clear understandable voice His explanations were easy to interrupt. The questions were open ended The next stages of progression for my treatment. he gave an explanation. . . and I was given opportunities to ask questions. In ending he asked if there were any things I wanted to add. In response I was stimulated to be interactively involved.

  • Dr Kirk was very pleasant from the outset, attentive and put me at ease. Throughout he was prepared to listen to my concerns and my wishes to consider every course of treatment both short term and long term.

  • Dr Kirk was very clear in his explanations, ensuring that I understood by explaining medical terms in non medical language. This gave reassurance me at what was a stressful and worrying time. As well as agreeing treatment now, we also agreed a pathway for future reviews. The follow up letter to my GP arrived quickly and was detailed in content.

  • Dr Kirk was very helpful and thorough and made sure I had all the tests needed following a worrying episode where my blood pressure went extremely high combined with a severe headache. He has a friendly manner and I would definitely recommend him.
