Dr Watts' registrar training in general neurology began at the Royal Free Hospital and sub-specialty training was completed at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen’s Square, London. Prior to receiving his CCST, he was attached to the department of Neurology at the Mount Sinai Medical Centre, New York, in the capacity of visiting registrar.  Dr Watts was an MRC Clinical Training Fellow at King’s College, London, where he received a PhD in neuropharmacology for work on the role of P450 enzymes in the basal ganglia in Parkinson’s disease. During this time, he had clinical attachments at the Royal Free and the National Hospital, Queen’s Square, under the supervision of Professors AHV Schapira and CD Marsden. He has over fifteen years post-graduate experience in clinical neurology and many original publications in neurology and the neurosciences. He was appointed to the post of Consultant Neurologist at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital NHS Trust and the Royal Free Hospital, London, in March 2002. His clinical interests encompass all aspects of neurology but he has developed particular interest in the management of Parkinson’s disease, balance disorders/vertigo and headache. He is clinical Director for Neurology & Neurophysiology at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital and Training Programme Director for Neurology at the Royal Free Hospital.
