I am a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with over 30 years of clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
I graduated from the prestigious Nishtar Medical College, Multan, Pakistan in 1991 and gained early, extensive experience managing complex medical conditions while working as a Postgraduate Registrar at Nishtar Hospital, a major tertiary referral centre.
After moving to the United Kingdom in 1996, I continued my postgraduate medical training and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (MRCP). I subsequently completed specialist training in General Medicine and Gastroenterology, receiving my Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) in Gastroenterology in 2007.

I provide expert, patient-centred care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including:
• Acid reflux (GORD) and heartburn
• Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) and oesophageal disorders
• Indigestion, abdominal pain, and bloating
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis)
• Changes in bowel habit (diarrhoea or constipation)
• Coeliac disease
• Anaemia and rectal bleeding
• Assessment and investigation of suspected bowel cancer
• Abnormal liver function tests
• Gallstone-related conditions
• Chronic and acute abdominal pain
Advanced Endoscopy
I am an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Endoscopist and an advanced therapeutic endoscopist. I perform high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in line with JAG (UK) standards.
Procedures offered include:
• Gastroscopy
• Flexible sigmoidoscopy
• Colonoscopy
• Polypectomy and complex polyp resection
• Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)
• Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
• Endorectal ultrasound
• Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration/biopsy
• Endoscopic dilatation of strictures
• Gastrointestinal stenting
Procedures can be performed with or without sedation, according to patient preference, and general anaesthesia can be arranged when clinically appropriate.
I have performed thousands of endoscopic procedures over my career.
Personal Interests
I am family person, I enjoy spending time with my family specially playing sports with my two sons and my family. Outside of work, I am deeply engaged in sport. I play competitive league cricket and regularly participate in 5-a-side football. I also closely follow professional sport and enjoy attending Premier League football matches with my family.
I have a strong passion for aviation. I am currently training toward completing my Private Pilot Licence.
