Clinical interests

Skin cancer, Mohs surgery, psoriasis, eczema, all inflammatory skin diseases, hair and nail disorders, cosmetic procedures including fillers Treatment for the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, removal of benign moles, skin tags, warts and cysts.

Academic background

Following medical training at Cambridge University and Newcastle University, I entered specialist training in Dermatology in Glasgow.  I worked in the internationally recognised melanoma unit at the Western Infirmary with Professor Rona Mackie and developed my interest in the diagnosis of skin cancer.

I came to Cornwall as a Consultant Dermatologist in 1999 and joined the team of Dr David Gould and Dr Bill Bowers.  During my time in Cornwall I have developed services for patients with skin disease including Mohs micrographic surgery.

I have also trained in London with senior Cosmetic Dermatologists including Dr Nick Lowe in the field of facial rejuvenation.

I have been clinical lead for Dermatology and am currently the lead clinician for skin cancer in Cornwall.

I have been involved in regular research throughout my career and have published extensively in peer reviewed journals.

As one of the most experienced Dermatologists in the South West I am regularly invited to speak at national academic meetings and to teach GPs and medical students.
