Dr Paul Fortun is a Gastroenterologist in Cornwall with a special interest in the management of unexplained abdominal pain
Diagnosis and management of dyspepsia (indigestion), IBS, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD: Ulcerative Colitis, Crohns), iron deficiency anaemia, coeliac disease, diarrhoea, constipation, and abdominal pain.
Accredited Colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening programme, and Endoscopy Lead for Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust. Dr Fortun performs Advanced Endoscopy including removal of large or complex polyps, gastroscopy, stricture dilation, PEG placement, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and dye spray assessment of Barretts oesophagus. He has the National JAG accreditation in Endoscopy.
Dr Fortun was Clinical Lecturer at Nottingham University running Clinical trials in IBD, Barretts oesophagus, and intestinal bleeding. One of his current specialist interests is the multidisciplinary management of unexplained abdominal pain.
