Clinical interests

 Mr Mathew is Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery in NHS and private practices in Peterborough. He is trained in breast surgical oncology and advanced Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery in the internationally reputed institutes of Nottingham and Derby. His special interest includes advanced breast preserving oncoplastic procedures- Therapeutic mammoplasty, mastopexy and partial breast reconstruction with chest wall perforator flaps. His other area of expertise is hidden scar (inflamammary fold) nipple sparing total breast reconstruction with implants using acellular dermal matrix and also autologous Latissimus dorsi. 

Academic background

He was granted DM from Nottingham University for his laboratory-based research into autoantibodies in cancer. He has over 45 papers and presentations including 3 book chapters.
