Professional profile

I specialise in all aspects of knee surgery including: Primary and revision knee replacement, unicompartmental knee replacement, knee ligament reconstruction and meniscal surgery and articular cartilage surgery. I also perform primary total hip replacement.

I perform about 200 joint replacements and around 50 ACL reconstructions a year.

I trained at Nottingham Medical School graduating BM, BS in 1994. After House Jobs at Queen’s Medical Centre I was appointed as a Lecturer in Human Anatomy for a year at Nottingham University. Basic surgical training in the Mersey region followed - attaining FRCSEd in 1999 after which I progressed onto higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in the Mersey region, qualifying FRCSEd(Tr&Orth) in 2004.

Having developed a sub-specialist interest in knee surgery I undertook a Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital - the hospital set up by Sir John Charnley, the pioneer of modern joint replacement surgery - and was appointed as a Consultant at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals in 2005.
