Mr Rupert Clifton is an Orthopaedic Consultant at Fitzwilliam Hospital
Knee surgery in particular Primary and Young Patients osteoarthritis, unicompartmental and patellofemoral knee replacement. Sports knee injury and ligament reconstruction including surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament and posterolateral corner. Knee arthroscopy and meniscal surgery including meniscal repair. High tibial osteotomy for young knee arthritis. Anterior knee pain and patellofemoral disorders including instability. Cartilage injury and repair including chondroplasty and micro fracture.
Mr Clifton specialises in custom made knee replacements which are patient specific.
Mr Clifton undertook Fellowships in knee surgery at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.
Mr Clifton has published papers in several orthopaedic journals on drains in orthopaedic surgery, drain use in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and the role of lateral retinacular release in knee surgery.
