Academic background

Dr Hume trained at Leicester University between 1981 and 1986 and graduated with a Merit in Medicine and Therapeutics. 

After completing his General Practice training, he gained a post as a GP Partner in Stamford. He also had clinical posts in Stamford Hospital mainly in Care of the Elderly and the Eye Clinic. He became a full time GP in 1990. Dr Hume has been actively involved in teaching and assessing trainee GPs and hospital Doctors since 1994. 

In 2013 he changed path and became an independent private GP, appraiser for NHS England and a professional photographer.
