Academic Background
After undergraduate medical studies at Cambridge University I completed my medical degree at Oxford University Medical School in 1993. My subsequent Specialty Training in Cardiology was undertaken in the North East of England, working predominantly in the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. I was able to undertake a period of research looking at Quality of Life indicators relating to pacemaker implantation and gained my Doctorate of Medicine in 2004.
