Academic Background
BA, MA, MB BChir, MD, FRCOG Mr Barrington qualified from Cambridge University in 1986. He completed basic training in London then was appointed onto the Welsh O&G training scheme at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. He obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 1993. He also completed subspecialty training in Urogynaecology and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine degree in 1997 on his thesis on the surgical treatment of the overactive bladder. Mr Barrington was appointed as Consultant in O&G at Torbay Hospital in 1997. He has an active research programme and lectures and teaches extensively: to date he has published over 90 peer reviewed papers and written chapters for textbooks.
