Mr Fady Yanni is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon with extensive experience in both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgical techniques. His primary clinical interest is in upper gastrointestinal cancer surgery, including oesophageal and gastric cancer, performed using open, laparoscopic (keyhole), and robotic surgical approaches.
Within Ramsay health, he also specializes in the management of hernias, gallbladder disease using key hole of open surgery, and performs both diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy.
Mr Yanni is the Head of the Department of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, reflecting his leadership role within one of the UK’s major tertiary referral centres.
He graduated from Cairo University in 2002 and subsequently completed a Master’s degree and Doctorate in General Surgery. Following higher surgical training in the UK, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 2013.
Mr Yanni is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care, tailoring treatment plans to the individual needs of each patient. He is an active member of the Association of Upper GI Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and contributes to surgical education as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
