His NHS practice is based at Salisbury NHS Foundation trust where he is the clinical lead for Mohs surgery, skin cancer and chair of the regional specialist skin cancer multidisciplinary team. He has more than 15 years experience working in the NHS.

He completed specialist plastic surgery training in the East Midlands where he was selected for a nationally appointed and highly competitive advanced training fellowship in Mohs and skin cancer surgery. He underwent further training in Mohs surgery in California, USA and is one of  a small number of UK plastic surgeons who are fully fellowship trained and accredited in Mohs surgery. He also completed a one year subspecialty hand surgery fellowship from the world famous Pulvertaft Hand Centre and completed the European Board of Hand Surgery (EHBS) diploma prior to taking up the post of consultant plastic surgeon at Salisbury.

He is an assigned educational and lead clinical supervisor for plastic surgeons in training in the Thames Valley deanery, helping to oversee and train the next generation of plastic surgeons in the NHS. He has multiple publications in UK and international plastic surgery journals and is a peer reviewer for the UK’s leading academic plastic surgery journal, the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - JPRAS. He is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery and a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).

Mr Wickham’s approach to each patient is highly tailored and he works collaboratively with each individual to help achieve their goals whether these are aesthetic, functional or a combination of both.
