Mr Robert Walker has trained internationally and specialises in knee surgery and personalised knee arthroplasty, including partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, revision knee replacement (when a previous knee replacement has been worn out), joint-preserving and sports-related procedures such knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), meniscal surgery (including meniscal repair) as well as ligament reconstruction including the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL reconstruction) and other knee operations for knee arthritis as well as non-surgical (non-operative) solutions for knee arthritis including knee joint injections.
He has an interest in personalised knee arthroplasty (knee joint replacement), designed to recreate the patient’s knee natural, pre-disease (pre-arthritic), anatomy rather than forcing the leg into a "one-size-fits-all" such as with traditional alignment techniques, with potential benefits being the replaced knee feeling more natural often with high patient satisfaction rates.

He undertook his rotational specialty training the Southwest prior to undertaking an international fellowship in New Zealand where he spent time operating with multiple internationally renowned knee surgeons.
He is widely published in peer-reviewed medical literature, being an author on more than 20 peer-reviewed publications with over 1300 citations of his work in peer-reviewed journals by other researchers and has been widely featured in mainstream media, including the BBC as well as The Lancet medical journal.
