Academic Background

Mr Robert Warr is a successful and established consultant plastic and cosmetic surgeon who has been working in Bristol and Gloucestershire for 22 years. He has a strong independent profile across many platforms including Top Doctors and Doctify and prides himself on the very personal relationship he develops with his patients.

Robert understands that the goals and motivations for undergoing any cosmetic procedure may be complex and that him getting to know his patients is the key to success. You will find the consultation process relaxed, extremely informative and above all honest. It will be based on over twenty two years as a consultant providing both cosmetic surgical services and regularly reviewing patients for second opinions.

Robert knows that a successful outcome is not solely based surgical experience and skill but must also include the care you receive pre- and post-operatively. He works with excellent attentive teams in all hospitals believes that personal availability is an essential part of his success. Robert knows that his patients may have questions further down the line and so all follow up appointments, even many years later, are not charged for.

As an  NHS consultant, Robert has had an outstanding career. His training included a year specialising in breast surgery at the prestigious Currie Institute in Paris with a further three further fellowships in London focusing on microsurgery, facial and occuloplastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. He has specialised in all of these areas whilst a consultant in the NHS. In 2025 Robert partially retired from the NHS but continues to focus on complex abdominal wall reconstruction during his time at Southmead.

As an academic surgeon, Robert gained his Doctorate from Bristol University in 2001. He continues to publish and present regularly, most recently with two papers in 2025 on the subject of innovative detection of skin cancer. This work is done in conjunction with the dept of Machine Vision at the UWE, Bristol. As a matter of interest. Robert performed the first total wrap breast reconstruction which was presented in 2007 and he also discovered a new species of parasitic wasp whilst on a research expedition with the University of Southampton in 1990 in Central America.
