Dr Cockroft has over thirty years’ experience in providing anaesthetic and intensive care for paediatric and adult patients with life-threatening emergency medical and surgical illnesses along with patients requiring major elective surgical interventions. His interests included management of major trauma, respiratory failure and cardiovascular failure. He had significant major incident roles the management of patients involved in the Kings Cross Fire (1987), Osman (1988) and Salisbury Poisonings (2018).
He was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care at Salisbury NHS Trust in 1994 before moving to a permanent consultant post at New Hall Hospital in April 2020.
