Ms Sonia Chachan -Consultant Gynaecologist, Oaklands Hospital, Salford
Ambulatory gynaecology, special interest in outpatients hysteroscopy services both diagnostic and operative, colposcopy, benign gynaecology, clinical governance and risk management I am RCOG accredited consultant in gynaecology.
I have 15 years experience in treating gynaecological problems in women.I completed my specialist training in London KSS deanery and most of my minimal access training was in Guildford, Surrey. I have also spent two years outside training to gain skills in gynaecology oncology and laparoscopic and robotic training. I obtained my CCT in 2011.
My niche area is treating women with period-related problems. I am experienced in management of these conditions in the outpatient hysteroscopy setting so women can avoid general anaesthetic, recover quicker and go back to their normal lives.
I am an accredited colposcopist with BSCCP and also a trainer. I see women with smear related issues and abnormal vaginal bleeding.
I run vulva services to treat women with vulval disorders. I offer laparoscopic surgery for benign gynaecological conditions and vaginal surgery for prolapse.
I am a consultant gynaecologist and obstetrician in the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust since 2013.
I keep myself updated about gynaecological problems by regularly attending academic conferences and working closely with local GPs.
I am passionate about women’s health and try hard to sort their gynaecological problems quickly and effectively. I am friendly and compassionate yet professional and efficient.
