Mr Suresh graduated from Madras Medical College in Madras (now known as Chennai) in 1986. He left for the UK soon after his internship and began surgical training in Shrewsbury after passing the PLAB exams in 1987. His surgical training took him through Wales and Ireland and he passed his Fellowship in General Surgery in 1991 after taking the exams in Scotland. Mr Suresh's higher surgical training in orthopaedics was on the East Anglian Programme based at Cambridge and he rotated through Peterborough, Bury St Edmunds and Colchester. He completed training and exit exams (FRCS Orth) and returned to Chennai, India in 1998. Four years later, Mr Suresh came back to Colchester where he has been very involved with setting up the spinal pathway to facilitate the early management of patients with spinal problems.
