Academic Background
Mr Corr graduated in Medical Sciences from University College, Cork and went on to complete his clinical studies while gaining a fellowship in general surgery after training at Mercy University Hospital and the Cork University Hospital. Academic achievements include the Ainsworth Scholarship for Medical Research, a uro-oncology fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York 1991-1993 and lecturer in urology at University College Dublin 1996-1998. Mr Corr moved to Dublin to start senior registrar training in urology with a two year fellowship in the United States. He completed senior registrar training in 1997 acquiring a speciality fellowship in urology. The last two years of his rotation was as a lecturer in urology and senior registrar at University College, Dublin. Mr Corr is now the Lead Cancer Surgeon for the Northern Division of the Essex Urology Cancer Network based at Colchester General Hospital. He also has a close liaison with the Bourn Hall Fertility Centre in Colchestew with expertise in reversal of vasectomy. He has authored many peer reviewed papers in basic urology and clinical urology, one of which was editorialised in the New York Times. Mr Corr is actively engaged in research both locally, collaborating with the University of Essex, and internationally, particularly with clinical trials.
