Mr Datta deals with all conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, prostate and genitalia in men, women and children.

He has developed a particular expertise in management of patients with urinary stone disease with minimally invasive surgery and the prevention of stones.

He sees female patients with bladder problems as well as children with paediatric urological conditions requiring both medical and surgical management.

 

Academic background

Mr Datta graduated from University College London, obtaining an intercalated degree in neuroscience and a distinction in medicine and surgery.

He was a Royal College of Surgeons Research Fellow at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery whilst publishing several papers and book chapters and obtaining a masters and doctoral degrees in neuro-urology.

He trained in London at the Hammersmith Hospital Surgical Rotation and the North Thames Deanery from which he graduated as a Urological Surgeon in 2012. He has worked as a Consultant at the Royal Free London.

He is the undergraduate tutor for urology at Colchester Hospital and has a postgraduate certificate in medical education.
