Academic Background
Graduated from Alexandria University in Egypt in 1991 with honours degree. Completed training as a Urology specialist and obtained a master degree in Urology From Cairo University in 1995. Had Fellowship of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Glasgow and perfomed research in Prostate Cancer for 3 years leading to MD degree from Queens University Belfast during which I established collaboration with academic centres in Italy and Netherland as well as collaboration with hospitals in Scotland. Then I was enrolled in a UK National formal training program for 5 years in Urology in Northern Ireland leading to Certificate of completion of Urological training from the speciality advisory committee. During my training I obtained FRCS degree in Urology and performed out of program fellowship in Eastbourne in Laparoscopic surgery. Following the completion of training I performed a further fellowship in complex Urological stone surgery and after starting my consultant post I obtained a degree in laparoscopic surgery from Universitie De Strasbourg (France). Currently I'm a consultant urological surgeon and Urology cancer lead at Aintree part of Liverpool University hospitals Foundation Trust. I'm also the chair of the Urology care Quality Group for Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer network (CQG) and I'm also the urology lead and member of the advisory board of the National institute of clinical care Excellence Intervention procedure advisory committee (NICE IPAC).
