Since graduating from the University of Essex in 2013 Sam has gained a vast clinic experience of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy in hospitals and private clinics. In 2012, Sam additionally trained as a Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist alongside her physiotherapy degree. Sam works alongside the consultants at Rivers hospital as an inpatient physiotherapist working predominantly with surgical patients, including total hip & knee replacements, spinal surgery, and a variety of other elective procedures.
Sam has recently been involved in the development of the new Day Case Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery Pathway which is now available at the Rivers Hospital. Alongside her orthopaedic work Sam has a special interest in treatment for vertigo and is a specialist in Vestibular Rehabilitation.
Sam has a personal interest in Reflexology and qualified as a Reflexologist in 2019 of which she uses her holistic knowledge to support a wellbeing approach when treating the needs of her patients. As well as being a member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Federation of Holistic therapists (FHT), Sam is also a member of The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Vestibular Rehabilitation (ACPIVR). She attends regular updates, lectures, and conferences to ensure her patients receive the best evidence-based skills and care.
Sam has recently stepped up to the role of Physiotherapy Manager and is enjoying supporting the team of therapists alongside her clinical role.
