Mr Sudipta Roy is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Staffordshire, Stafford.
Mr Roy specialises in abdominal and colorectal surgery. Mr Roy offers surgery for all abdominal and groin hernias and can offer both an open or laparoscopic approach, depending on the nature of the hernia. He has a wide experience in coloproctology, including the management of haemorrhoids (piles), fistula-in-ano, fissure-in-ano, pilonidal disease and excision of skin tags. He offers assessment and advice on abdominal pain, constipation, loose bowels, defaecatory disorders and bowel incontinence. He offers a colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy service.
Mr Roy completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Birmingham in 2003. He completed a MSc in Trauma Surgery (Military) at the University of Swansea in 2013. He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016 and is a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland. He is a resectional cancer surgeon but also offer benign bowel resections, hernia surgery, coloproctology and lower gastrointestinal surgery services. Abdominal surgery is mainly perform using minimal access techniques, utilising a laparoscopic or robotic approach. He was a commissioned medical officer in the Royal Navy from 2007 to 2015.
Mr Roy has a busy NHS practice and works at both Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital. He lives in Endon in the Staffordshire Moorlands along with his wife and two dogs.
