Mr Malek specialises in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery along with Enhanced Recovery Protocols. The scar can be as short as 2.5 inches for hips and 4 inches for knees. Both techniques combined together offers faster recovery, speedy rehabilitation, lower complications rates and better patient satisfaction. He is curretnly doing around 350 joint replacements a year.
After MBBS qualification in 1998 from Baroda - India, Mr Malek completed his junior doctor training from Mersey deanery. He received formal Orthopaedic Registrar training from Wales and obtained FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2009. He joined Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore as a Fellow and received extensive training in joint replacement and reconstruction surgery.
He took Consultant position in Liverpool before settling in Stafford. His NHS base was University Hospitals of North Midlands, Stoke on Trent until end of 2018. He has now moved to full time private practise that include both private and NHS Choose and Book patients. He won the award of ‘The Best Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon in Staffordshire 2018’ by Global Health and Pharma Awards.
