Mr Mehta obtained his primary medical qualification in 1995 and did his Masters (M.S) at King George Medical College, India. He undertook basic surgical training at St James's University Hospital, Leeds and subsequently worked as a trauma fellow at the Royal Centre of Defence Medicine, based at Selly Oak Hospital and then as a hand surgery fellow at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. He pursued higher surgical orthopaedic training at London and Leicester. He boosted his experience by completing a one-year shoulder fellowship at Wrightington, and British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) travelling fellowship at University Hôpital L'Archet, Nice, France,both at world-renowned centres.
