Mr Thomas Pearson is a General Surgeon in Chelmsford, Essex who specialises in hernia repair, pilonidal disease, gall stones, haemorrhoids, fissures, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, crohn’s, and diverticular disease.
Mr Thomas Pearson specialises in hernia repair, pilonidal disease, gall stones, minor anorectal conditions (e.g. haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas), prolapse and incontinence, colorectal cancer and polyps, inflammatory bowel disease (crohn’s disease and colitis), diverticular disease and advice on screening and genetic testing for hereditary colorectal cancer. He also carries out the Rafaelo procedure.
Mr Pearson qualified at the Royal Free hospital in 1992 and has trained in General Surgery in London, Northamptonshire, Surrey, Sussex and Australia. He has lectured in General Surgery at University College London and has completed laboratory and population based research into the natural history, genetics and inheritance of colorectal cancer. He trained in keyhole surgery at Frimley Park and The Royal Surrey County Hospital (including the internationally renowned Minimal Access Training Unit). Mr Pearson is an accredited upper and lower GI endoscopist having completed training and evaluation at St Georges Hospital endoscopy training unit. He was appointed a Consultant Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford in 2007.
Mr Pearson is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and maintains professional affiliations to the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.
