Mr McVie is an experienced Upper Limb Orthopaedic Consultant specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery.
Shoulder & elbow surgery (elective & complex trauma)
Major Trauma Centre (MTC): As Clinical Director for trauma, he has been involved in the development of pathways for fractures within the Trust.
Shoulder & Elbow: Developed upper limb elective & trauma service whilst in Darlington Memorial Hospital. Joined established team in James Cook University Hospital but continue to develop service and management of complex upper limb injuries.
Limb reconstruction: Since 2011 Mr James McVie has been moving his practice towards limb reconstruction, working alongside an experienced colleague in this field. He is now able to offer help with non-union, bone deformity and infection work.
