Clinical interests

Mr Choudhary specialises in all aspects of hip and knee replacement surgery, including revision and periprosthetic fractures. He also performs knee arthroscopies and has interest in patellofemoral (knee cap) conditions.  

Mr Choudhary has five years of experience at level of a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in the NHS working at hospitals in Warwickshire, Cambridgeshire and Hampshire.

He possesses in depth knowledge of the enhanced recovery programme for hip and knee replacements and aims to commence mobilisation of his hip and knee replacement patients on the day of the surgery. He maintains an up to date log book and audit of his clinical outcomes which he feels act as a drive for keeping quality of his service to its best.

Mr Choudhary was initially trained in India and underwent further orthopaedic training in the Wessex and the South Wales regions.  He underwent two fellowship trainings in hip and knee surgery at Morriston Hospital in Swansea and later at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He was trained extensively in primary hip and knee replacement and revision surgery. He has also had training in Oxford Unicondylar Knee Replacement and has worked alongside the Bone Infection Unit managing infected hip and knee joint prosthesis. 

Mr Choudhary is an accredited Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) trainer for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

He has authored several scientific articles and has had a number of presentations at national and international meetings and conferences.

He is a peer reviewer for the hip and knee research papers for the Bone and Joint Journal (British JBJS) which helps him to remain up dated regarding recent developments in his specialty.
