Mr Kawesha is a Consultant General Surgeon with a Coloproctology specialist interest. In addition to cancer work, he sees patients with all aspects of coloproctology (e.g inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, complicated anorectal conditions, functional bowel disorders and endoscopy (OGD and Colonoscopy). Other interests include laparoscopy (currently helping to develop laparoscopic colectomy), laparoscopic cholecystectomy and groin hernias.
Mr Kawesha basic medical qualifications include a BSc as well as MBCHB. Following surgical training that took him to Cambridge, Wales, Birmingham and Merseyside (Research into the genetics of pancreatic cancer) and back in South Wales, he obtained the FRCS(Ed) and finally the Intercollegiate FRCS culminating in the award of the CCST. Mr Kawesha currently also holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship with the University of Birmingham.
