He is an experienced laparoscopic and robotic surgeon. He also undertakes lower GI endoscopy – colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy.

He is a core member of multidisciplinary teams at Leicester managing inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), endometriosis (endometriosis that involves the bowel) and the colorectal cancer (bowel cancer).

Mr Chaudhri graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College in India and trained as a surgeon whilst serving in the Indian Navy. Trained in the UK at Academic Colorectal Units in Newcastle upon Tyne, Liverpool and Birmingham before being appointed to Leicester General Hospital in 2009. 

His travelling Fellowships include the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre, Mt Sinai Hospital Toronto, the Laparoscopic Surgery Unit in Monaldi Hospital Naples and the Colorectal Unit at Karolinksa University Hospital Stockholm.

He is currently the Royal College Surgical Tutor for Leicester General Hospital and a member of the Cohort Studies Committee of the ESCP (European Society of Coloproctology)
