Clinical interests

Mr Porter is a skilled laparoscopic and open gynaecological surgeon who has been a consultant since 2004. He has performed over 1000 advanced laparoscopic procedures including more than 400 total laparoscopic hysterectomies.

His interests also include menstrual disorders, fibroids, colposcopy, peri-menopausal health and pelvic pain.

 

Academic background

Mr Porter graduated in 1992 from St Georges’ Hospital Medical School, London.

He then undertook postgraduate training in some of the leading centres in country including Queen Charlotte’s & Hammersmith Hospitals, London where he was trained by the current gynaecologist to The Royal Family.

In 2018, he received the Primrose Award for providing outstanding patient care.

He is a Consultant at Airedale Hospital where he is the Unit Cancer lead. He has authored a number of peer reviewed articles and one book chapter.
