My primary medical degree (MBChB) was obtained studying at Dundee University. Following this my House Jobs were in Dundee and Perth and Basic Surgical Training was performed working in Weymouth, Dorchester, Exeter, Glasgow and Ayr. During this time I obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd).
Specialist Training in Orthopaedics and Trauma included Registrar posts in Dumfries and Leeds before appointment as a Specialist Registrar on the Orthopaedic rotation in Yorkshire. This was completed with the Intercollegiate Specialist qualification in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCSTr& Orth)
My Sub-Specialist training in Hand,Wrist and Elbow Surgery was undertaken in a Nationally Awarded Interface Orthoplastic Hand Fellowship inManchester, Salford and Wrightington, where I undertook detailed training in both the Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery aspects of Hand Surgery. I followed this with a further Upper Limb (Shoulder & Elbow) and Hand Fellowship at Royal Derby Hospital and the Pulvertaft Hand Centre.
I have been recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as a high quality surgical trainer and was recently elected as a Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers (MFSTEd).
I have attained the European Diploma in Hand Surgery (Eur Dip Hand Surg) qualification, awarded by the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH).
