Medical oncology. Lung and gynaecological cancers
Dr Michael Crawford is a senior cancer physician with a broad experience of treating common cancers. In recent years he has specialised in treating gynaecological cancers including cancer of the ovary, lung cancers and mesothelioma. He also has special interest in the investigation and treatment of cancers where the precise diagnosis is not clear.

At Liverpool University he won the Thomas A Jermy Prize and the Medical Clinical Trophy. He cut his teeth in clinical cancer research working in Bradford and Leeds, leading on to his Doctorate in Medicine, and continued his training at Charing Cross Hospital, London. Shortly after starting as a consultant medical oncologist he won the Croom Prize awarded by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He continues to be active in clinical research at Airedale General Hospital.
