Miss Sabeen Akhtar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Greater Manchester who specialises in Trauma, knee, foot and ankle surgery.
Foot and Ankle Surgery
Miss Akhtar completed her specialist orthopaedic training in the North West region, She undertook a foot and ankle fellowship at the internationally renowned Wrightington Hospital. During her orthopaedic training, she undertook research projects in the area of foot and ankle surgery which have been published in peer reviewed journals and received prizes both at nationally and internationally renowned orthopaedic meetings.
Miss Akhtar has been a full time NHS Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon working for the Pennine Acute NHS Trust since August 2014. Her elective NHS practise currently focuses on foot and ankle conditions and my practise encompasses the latest evidence based treatment options in this sub-specialty. She has successfully treated sports persons at all levels including a World Boxing Association lightweight champion.
Miss Akhtar has been a honorary senior lecturer for Edge Hill University and she is currently a faculty member for a number of courses for orthopaedic speciality trainees and a clinical supervisor for junior doctors in training.
