Mr Christopher Brew studied Medicine at St Andrews University and the University of Manchester and completed his specialist orthopaedic training in Yorkshire. He then went on to complete two renowned Hip and Knee Replacement Fellowships one national (Leeds) and one international (Brisbane, Australia) where he gained additional experience in treating all aspects of joint replacement surgery including computer aided surgery and complex revision surgery.
Following the award of multiple Research Fellowships Mr Brew completed an extensive period of research into osteoarthritis, a debilitating and painful condition that is the most common reason for having to undergo hip and knee replacement surgery. This work helped improve our understanding of the causes of osteoarthritis and has been published in internationally renowned journals and has been presented at international meetings. This research into osteoarthritis has also resulted in the award of a Doctorate in Medicine by the University of Manchester.
