Boston West Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is proud to announce it has been awarded an overall rating of 'Good' following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This excellent achievement reflects the hospital’s hard work, dedication, and commitment of every team member in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care.
The inspection carried out across two days in September and October 2025 focused on reviewing the hospital’s standards against all domains of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led care for Surgery, Diagnostics and Outpatients.
The CQC inspection team commended Boston West Hospital for an outstanding standard of care, highlighting that the service was exceptional at treating people with kindness, empathy and compassion and in how they respected people’s privacy and dignity.
The inspectors also praised the hospital’s staff culture, leadership quality, and infection prevention standards. The report said that both surgery and outpatient services deliver person‑centred care with excellent continuity, responsiveness, and professional collaboration

Key highlights from the report include:
- Staff were kind, compassionate and ensured patients were able to maintain dignity. Staff used a person-centred, needs-based approach to ensure people had the best experience. Staff took account of people’ individual and diverse needs when providing treatment.
- The service had enough staff with the right skills, training and experience who received effective support, supervision, and development.
- Staff worked together effectively to provide safe care that met person’s individual needs.
- Staff supported people to make decisions about their care and worked well with regional NHS services to coordinate more complex needs.
- The service made it easy for people to give feedback and staff acted on this.
- The service had an open culture where people, their families and staff could raise concerns without fear. Staff at all levels were clear about their roles and accountabilities.
- The design, maintenance and use of facilities, premises, and equipment kept people safe.
