Tees Valley Hospital was proud to support a successful charity cricket match in aid of The Headlight Project, a local charity providing vital support to individuals and families affected by suicide and mental health challenges across Teesside.
The friendly fixture saw the Tees Valley Titans take on Middlesbrough Cricket Club in a spirited match that brought together staff, patients, families, and the wider community. The event was a wonderful display of teamwork, community spirit and a shared commitment to raising awareness of mental health.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, over £1,400 was raised on the day, with further donations still coming in. This vital funding will help The Headlight Project continue their invaluable work, offering care and education in response to the growing suicide crisis in the region.
Kellie Joyce, Business Relations Manager at Tees Valley Hospital and Lead for our Social Impact Practice Resource Group (PRG), said:
“We are so proud to have been part of such a fantastic day in support of an incredibly important cause. Every run scored, every cheer, and every donation has made a difference. We are so grateful to the junior and adult players, and to everyone who supported the match.”
Helen Routh, Operations Manager at Tees Valley Hospital, added:
“It was an amazing day for a charity that is making such a difference locally. With suicide rates sadly rising in Teesside, Tees Valley Hospital is committed to doing all we can this year to raise awareness, support families and help educate young people.”
This event is part of Tees Valley Hospital’s wider commitment to community support through Ramsay Cares and our Practice Resource Groups (PRGs). These groups bring colleagues together across our hospitals to focus on key areas such as social impact, the environment, and wellbeing, ensuring we play an active role in making a difference beyond healthcare.
