The Yorkshire Clinic, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is proud to announce it has been awarded an overall rating of Outstanding following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), achieving the highest rating possible. This accolade reflects the hospital’s unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care, safety, leadership, and continuous improvement.
The CQC inspection team praised The Yorkshire Clinic for its compassionate staff, effective treatment services, and strong clinical leadership. The inspection in April focused on the surgery services at the hospital, and the report highlighted how the hospital delivered exemplary care to patients.
Linda Hirst, CQC Deputy Director of Operations in the North said: “Kind and compassionate staff demonstrated outstanding commitment to delivering person-centred care that met people's unique needs and preferences.
“People and their relatives were overwhelmingly positive about the surgery department. Where some were unable to directly tell us about their experience, we observed effective and supportive interactions between people and staff. This showed people were included and listened to, and staff ensured they remained central to their care.”

The Yorkshire Clinic achieved ‘Outstanding’ in the domains of Effective, Caring, Well-led, with ‘Good’ ratings for Safe and Responsive care. This led to the overall rating of Outstanding for the hospital. The inspectors praised the compassionate and dedicated staff, exemplary surgery services, and strong clinical leadership, noting a proactive culture of safety and learning. Patients and relatives consistently reported high-quality, personalised care, with innovative practices and inclusive initiatives such as the ‘Patient Diary’ and ‘This is Me’ care plans highlighted. The hospital also maintained top infection control standards, achieved ANTT Gold accreditation, and demonstrated outstanding leadership and staff wellbeing. With clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction scores exceeding national benchmarks, The Yorkshire Clinic continues to set the standard for excellence in healthcare.

Key highlights from the report include:
- Senior leaders investigated incidents thoroughly to improve care for people and shared learning both internally and externally.
- The service had facilities and equipment that met people’s needs, which were clean and well-maintained.
- The service had enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care.
- Staff managed medicines well and involved people in any changes.
- Staff worked well with partner organisations, so people had a smooth transition when they moved between services.
- Staff made sure people understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent.
- People scored the hospital between 9.5 and 9.7 out of 10 across all aspects of their experience, including cleanliness, staff confidence, communication and compassionate care
