Patient Feedback

What our patients say

  • The medical care I receive is exemplary. The whole team work very well together providing a joined up service and the home service is the jewel in the crown. The benefit of having the continuous care from the same nurse every two weeks, is so beneficial. My chemotherapy nurse is always contactable, organised, punctual and professional. She has made me feel safe during the pandemic and brings happiness and laughter when she arrives with her drug pack and drip stand. Perhaps most of all the team have made me feel that I matter and they want to help me through what is obviously a very difficult time.

  • Facing chemotherapy was quite daunting so after the initial sessions, it was great to know that the hospital team could come to my home for blood tests and chemotherapy. I didn't have my own transport or someone to take me to the hospital and stay during the treatments, so the home care made a huge difference. I was more comfortable and the team's dedication to my wellbeing and recovery were invaluable as we could also discuss any other issues or worries that I might have about my cancer.

"I started my private practice 9 years ago with Ramsay hospitals and now hold practising privileges at three Ramsay hospitals: Springfield (Chelmsford), Oaks (Colchester) and Rivers (Sawbridgeworth). My practice has steadily grown over the nine years secondary to excellent diagnostic facilities, administrative support and marketing team support.

There is dedicated support and funding to develop cancer services across Ramsay hospitals in the UK. This includes investment in surgical, diagnostic and medical care. All the above three Ramsay sites have a dedicated chemotherapy unit, staffed with enthusiastic well-trained staff with aim to open new sites in the future. The Ramsay Oncology team also offers home-chemotherapy services. There is an online electronic MDT platform to discuss cancer patients with strong emphasis on clinical governance. All Ramsay sites are also linked with electronic software allowing remote access to patient records.

Ramsay is keen to promote clinicians, to help their practice grow. Every hospital has a dedicated GP liaison officer who arrange a variety of educational events over the year to promote your practice.

I would encourage clinicians interested in private cancer care to join Ramsay hospitals to develop their practice and offer comprehensive cancer services under one roof. "

Infrastructure & Diagnostic Capabilities

With an ongoing programme of development and investment into our hospitals and equipment, Ramsay is proud of the quality facilities and environments that patients enjoy when being treated with us.

Since March 2020 Ramsay has invested over £12m in its diagnostic capabilities, including 13 new diagnostic imaging modalities (MRI / CT / 3D Mammography). This investment programme will continue into the coming years as part of the diagnostic strategy to ensure early diagnosis and improved patient outcomes.

Clinical Governance

Ramsay Cancer Care is dedicated to providing a service underpinned by a high quality clinical governance framework which drives clinical excellence and patient safety. Ramsay has a robust clinical governance structure in place with a dedicated National SACT committee to oversee SACT services in Ramsay, supported by a governance structure including specialist National Cancer Leads in medical, nursing and pharmacy roles.

eMDT

Ramsay’s expectation is for appropriate MDT arrangements are in place to manage patients. Ramsay Hospitals will facilitate eMDT support wherever possible to allow flexibility for clinicians when discussing patients with the multidisciplinary team.
