I was admitted as a day case for a planned Trapeziectomy and was very happy with my care during the day. Everyone took the time to explain everything and special thanks to the anesthetist who really put me at ease and to Michelle who made me laugh. The surgeon Michael Gale spent time with me beforehand to ensure all my questions and concerns were answered. I had a lovely room and was checked on regularly after i was back from recovery. My discharge was delayed a bit and I felt I wasn't kept informed much during that time, also I was advised that the hospital would call me at home a few days later to ensure i didn't have any problems. A week later I've had no call, although fortunately I've had no problems. Despite this blip I'm very happy with the hospital.

Just had a full knee replacement and would like to thank Mr Bhadi and all the staff for there most professional and efficient care, I fell more like a guest than a patient from start to finish they put me at ease and nothing was to much trouble. The facilities at Woodthorpe are wonderful more like a hotel. There caring professional pain management made what could be a daunting experience bearable. . 4 days post op and I can feel the benefit already. Highly recommended.

I had a GA procedure yesterday and was very impressed with the whole experience. Very friendly care team and the surgeon was extremely clear as to what he intended to do. The only things I was a little disapointed with was the wait time from being admitted at 08:00, but not going into theatre until12:15 (I had expected it not to be so long, so had not brought my mobile phone or a magazine or book) and my wife had taken a day off work to accomapny me whilst i waited for the procedure and also to be with me in the recovery pod. This was not allowed so she could have gone into work for a few hours, to take her mind off my situation. It may be a good idea to point out to patients that the wait time can be quite long, and that nobody is allowed to accompany patients beyond the main reception. Overall, a very nice hospital with lovely, caring staff and surgeon.

Amazing hospital, all of the staff are kind, caring and extremely thorough. You feel valued, listened to and reassured. I would 100% recommend. I travelled from Colchester to see Simon Smith and his team - he is an exceptionally talented Doctor and Im glad I chose Springfield for my referral.

Im Just after my second surgery on ankle injury under NHS patients i can't be more than happy and everything with the care i received from my surgeon very good person and professional.
