⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional, compassionate care for our daughter I wanted to leave a very special review for Dr Vellayan Medhavi following the care she provided to our daughter, Kenzie, when she underwent a hysteroscopy at Winfield Hospital in Gloucester in March. As parents, placing your daughter in someone else’s care for a procedure can be incredibly daunting, particularly when she has additional needs and requires a little more understanding, reassurance and patience. From the outset, Dr Medhavi was wonderful with our Daughter. What mattered to us was not simply her clinical expertise, but the way she treated her as a person. She was kind, calm, respectful and reassuring, and gave her the dignity she deserved throughout. She also understood that communication and trust can make an enormous difference to how someone experiences medical care. For us as her parents, that was incredibly important. We felt reassured that K was in safe and compassionate hands, and we were extremely grateful for the sensitivity with which her care was handled. When you have spent many years advocating for your child, you never forget the healthcare professionals who genuinely take the time to understand them rather than simply seeing a diagnosis or a procedure. Dr Medhavi was one of those professionals. Thank you, Dr Medhavi, for your kindness, professionalism and, most importantly, for treating K with such compassion and person centred respect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An exceptional surgeon genuinely life-changing care I cannot recommend Mr Mark Whittaker highly enough. I underwent a total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy in July 2026 after suffering with pelvic pain and extremely heavy periods. I went into surgery expecting fibroids to be the main issue, but Mr Whittaker discovered very severe Stage IV endometriosis, alongside fibroids and adenomyosis. The extent of the endometriosis was considerable. My ovaries and tubes were fixed to my pelvic sidewalls, the pouch of Douglas was obliterated, and my bladder was affected by endometriosis and adhesions from a previous Caesarean section. Mr Whittaker had to carefully mobilise my rectum and ovaries, identify both ureters and free my bladder before completing my surgery laparoscopically. Knowing now just how complex that operation was makes me incredibly grateful that Mr Whittaker was my surgeon. Despite the extent of the disease and surgery, my recovery has been remarkable. At my two-month follow-up, I was delighted to hear that I had made an excellent recovery, and my histology was thankfully benign. Mr Whittaker’s surgical expertise is exceptional, but what I appreciated equally was his manner. He was calm, kind, reassuring and straightforward. He took the time to explain my findings, my recovery, and my ongoing HRT options so that I could make an informed decision about what was right for me. For years I had lived with symptoms without appreciating just how extensive the disease inside my pelvis had become. Finally having an explanation - Stage IV endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids - was incredibly validating. I genuinely feel that this surgery has given me a new chapter of my life, and I will always be grateful to Mr Whittaker for getting me there. To any woman facing a hysterectomy or complex endometriosis surgery: I would trust and recommend Mr Whittaker without hesitation. Thank you for your extraordinary skill, compassion, and person-centred care. Five stars do not really seem enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THANK YOU
