  • Just had a hip replacement done at Renacres, from the 1st to the last member of the team who I had the pleasure of meeting. I just want to say a huge thank you to you all. Heather who was on her placement from college and was outstanding and a natural in this line of care. Once again, thank you to you all for looking after me and making my surgery a positive & memorable experience. Well done Renacres. x.

  • My experience at Woodthorpe Hospital has been second to none. I have recently had a hip replacement and am currently awaiting the other, and from start to finish the care has been exceptional. Every single person I came into contact with was incredible, and everything was handled so efficiently. After being told by my GP surgery that they couldn’t remove my staples for three weeks and that I should attend a walk-in centre, I felt quite concerned. That same afternoon, I received a welfare call from a lovely lady (I believe her name was Jenny). She was so caring and proactive, and immediately arranged an appointment for me on the correct date given by the nurses. That level of attention and follow-up really meant a lot. All the staff on the ward were amazing. I had to stay slightly longer than expected, but I never once felt like an inconvenience — only genuine care and concern. Raymond, my first nurse, was especially wonderful. He was friendly, took the time to explain everything clearly, checked in regularly, and even came to say goodbye before going on his days off. That personal touch says everything about the standard of care. Dimple, my physiotherapist, has the patience of a saint. She made sure I was truly safe and confident before letting me progress, which gave me so much reassurance. The whole experience has completely put me at ease and has made me feel confident and ready for my second hip replacement. I truly cannot recommend Woodthorpe Hospital highly enough.

  • I recently underwent surgery for Dupuytren's contracture at Woodthorpe Hospital, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment I walked through the doors, the level of care and professionalism was outstanding. Reception: The front-of-house team was welcoming, efficient, and made the check-in process completely stress-free. Ward Staff: The nursing team on the ward was attentive and kind, ensuring I was comfortable and well-informed both before and after my procedure. Surgical Team: The operation itself went smoothly. I felt I was in expert hands throughout, and the surgical team took the time to answer all my questions, which really put my mind at ease. Aftercare: The follow-up and discharge process were handled with genuine care, focusing on my recovery and pain management.

  • After waiting since October 2023 to have my operation, then given a date that was then cancelled (luckily rebooked within 3 weeks) the staff at Woodthorpe hospital were fantastic. Gen and Lucy who looked after me were so incredibly nice. The lady who took my down to the operating room (cant remember her name, but has an amazing stitch tattoo) was hilarious and put me at ease and my fantastic surgeon Viran has done a great job.

  • I recently had an operation at the Woodthorpe. The staff were friendly and helpful, the ward was clean and communications were well organised. Honestly the process was faultless. Its been a few weeks now but I want to give a massive thank you to the nurse looking after me (an East Asian man whose name has slipped my mind) - he really took the time to ease my anxieties. I would recommend the woodthorpe.

  • Total knee replacement 8/2/26. The hospital staff, nurses and doctors were of the highest order nothing was too much trouble. The hospital was kept spotlessly clean and the catering was excellent as the meals were varied and fresh . Under the care of Mr N Badhe and his team everything was fully explained including timescales, pain duration and pain relief, however there were a few issues which I felt needed addressing. The Anaesthetist gave me a spinal block which was fine and I asked to be sedated heavily so as not to hear the crashing and banging about in the theatre which he agreed he would sort out. I heard every saw cut and hammer blow which actually shook the whole bed and I could smell burning flesh during the painless procedure. There was no communication with me at all and no earphones were offered either. Staff in recovery were really kind and had a lovely manner. I never saw the surgeon again after my surgery. They struggled to get on top of my pain post op and the next 24 hours were excruciating until I requested Morphine myself the next day. Having said all that, the Hospital experience itself was top notch but in theatre I felt I was not treated well it just seemed they wanted me in and out ASAP which I can understand as I was an NHS case. However, a little more empathy would have been welcome given that I was awake during the procedure.

  • I have had both my bunions operated on at Woodthorpe Hospital under Mr Finney. Both operations were successful and the care I was given was exceptional. My second one was cancelled due to no heating but was rearranged within two weeks. I also had two appointments post operation and never had to wait. Wouldn’t hesitate in going back if ever needed.

  • Wonderful hospital and amazing staff . Had two operations here for both bunions and would highly recommend. Perfect treatment and care from start to finish. The only thing I would say is , its not easy to get through on the telephone, had some difficulties getting someone to answer to assist me, but otherwise 5 star service. 🌟
