North Downs - Cat Bradshaw - ODP and Training and Development Lead

Cat Bradshaw

Why do you enjoy working at Ramsay Health Care UK?
My ODP role here is varied and I have had great opportunities to develop whilst I have worked here! The team are like family and this is reflected in the impression we give to not only to patients and relatives, but other colleagues i.e. consultants and contractors. I have worked here for 14 years and couldn’t imagine working with anyone else! I feel a real sense of belonging here.

What support is given to you?
Through annual PDRs and constant communication with each other, North Downs has a very supportive environment. There is also an active Mental Health First Aider within the hospital so even throughout the stressful times of the pandemic, support and guidance is available.

Describe the culture at Ramsay Health Care UK?
Even though we are a small hospital, we pack a punch!!! No two days are the same and we are extremely busy. All team members support each other. At North Downs, our departments work well together and it is important to us that we communicate effectively with each other to provide a holistic experience for our patients.

What development opportunities have you had?
Ramsay  have a fantastic Training Academy which provides both internal and external training opportunities. We also offer apprenticeships for both current staff members and new starters.  All mandatory training study days are carried out on site.  At every staff members annual appraisal, their development needs are discussed and ensured they are met in line with the requirements of their department and their personal development.
