Mr Klaus Hilt is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Berkshire Independent Hospital in Reading who specialises in hip and knee surgery.
Beside Hip and Knee arthroplasty including uncemented Hip Replacement, Unicondylar Knee Replacement and knee and hip revision, my main interests are sports medicine, knee surgeries/arthroscopies including arthroscopic ACL-reconstruction, and ankle and foot procedures in particular forefoot reconstruction surgery.
I qualified as a medical doctor in 1990 after having studied at the University of Saarland, Germany and Sydney, Australia. My orthopaedic surgical training was done in Saarlouis, Germany under Prof. Hess (former Orthopaedic Consultant of the German National Football Team). From 1997 until 2004 I worked as Deputy Head of Department at the Teaching Hospital Trier, Germany under Prof. Hopf. Since 2004 I have been registered with the GMC in Trauma and Orthopaedics and working as a Locum Orthopaedic Consultant in Leeds, Salisbury and since 2010 in Reading. In addition I worked as an Orthopaedic Consultant for the German Under 16 and Under 17 National Football Team for more than 4 years.
